Now the hotel IT specialists, headquartered in Schiffweiler, Germany, are opening a regional office in Austria – making it the eighth global location alongside Australia, Brazil, the United Kingdom, India, Spain and Portugal. 

Schiffweiler, March 23, 2022 – Austria is an attractive travel destination with a high hotel density. Statistics Austria counted around 11,300 hotel establishments in 2021, more than half of them in the 3- and 4-star segment. A market that proved comparatively stable even in the first year of crisis in 2020, because while the number of arrivals in Europe as a whole fell by 74 percent due to the pandemic, the figure in Austria was only 45.8 percent, according to the Chamber of Commerce. “Austrian tourism is traditionally strong, and guests are loyal,” knows SIHOT Managing Director and Board Member Carsten Wernet. “We see good market potential for us here.” Because: the comprehensive, modular and SaaS cloud-based SIHOT IT solution packages including booking engine, POS and C&B platform are particularly suitable for accommodation businesses with at least 30 rooms and 3 stars or more. “There are many of such hotel businesses in Austria, but there is virtually no chain hotel industry there, which we also traditionally serve strongly” says Wernet.

The new SIHOT location will be based in Salzburg – the region with the highest hotel density after Tyrol. “We already have some long-standing hotel customers in Austria – such as Hotel Mondschein am Arlberg, BründlSpa in Bad Leonfelden and Schwärzler Hotels – which we have previously from Germany,” says CEO Wernet. Basically, it is part of the company and product strategy to closely accompany hoteliers in digitizing their operational processes and implementing corresponding IT solutions, always on site and in the local language. “Training and support are absolutely essential to get the most out of the power of the SIHOT hotel management system,” says Wernet. “Close consultation allows us to adapt our IT modules as flexibly as possible to our customers’ own hotel ecosystems.” Another key feature, he said, is the software’s high level of integration capability.
