Our Way
SIHOT is a hotel software application from GUBSE AG. In 1986 the first version of SIHOT was created on a Unix platform and was further developed with the aim of using a single innovative software solution to control all conceivable administrative processes in the accommodation industry, from youth hostels to 5-star luxury hotels. The open structure, modularity and configurability guarantee an individual solution for the hotelier. SIHOT was one of the first Windows products on the market and has been consistently expanded to form a complete family of modules.
The board consists of Dipl.-Inf. Jörg P. Berger, Dipl.-Ing. Carsten Wernet and Dipl.-Inf. Jochen Conrad. GUBSE AG employs around 200 people at eleven global locations. Our team has turned SIHOT into one of the leading, modular hotel management software systems. SIHOT is now used in around 3,500 top hotels worldwide.
Our experience is the basis for further development that is one step ahead, our flexibility enables user-optimized organizational consulting and our know-how reduces training times and simplifies maintenance.
1986
The world premiere of the musical “Phantom of the Opera” takes place at Her Majesty’s Theatre in London.
SIHOT is developed on a UNIX-platform in the programming languages COBOL and C.
1988
German figure skating icon Katarina Witt wins Olympic Gold in Calgary.
Norbert Wernet takes over the management of the company GUB Software Entwicklung.
1994
Michael Schumacher becomes the first German Formula 1 World Champion with a total of 92 points.
The development of SIHOT.PMS as a 32-bit Windows application starts taking place.
1996
Dolly the sheep is born, the first ever cloned mammal.
The company shares are distributed among the executive board: Norbert Wernet, Jorg P. Berger, Jochen Conrad.
1997
Hale-Bopp, the unusually bright comet, makes a spectacular, visible appearance lasting several months.
The first Windows application of SIHOT is installed directly at the clients.
1999
Treasure hunters discover the Nebra sky disk, a bronze age depiction of the cosmos.
Sol Meliá, one of the largest hotel chains in the world, also changes to the SIHOT Windows version.
2000
The Expo 2000 in Hannover, Germany is the first recognised world exposition.
The development of the booking platform SIHOT.WEB begins.
2001
Dennis Tito, the first space tourist, visits the International Space Station (ISS).
The first GUBSE subsidiary is founded in Majorca.
2002
Twelve European states adopt the Euro as their universal currency.
The development of a central solution SIHOT.CM for hotel chains commences.
2004
Mark Zuckerberg founds the corporation Facebook.
A new sales office opens in Berlin and the newly founded subsidiary addiPOS specialises in POS-solutions.
2006
The game console Nintendo WII is released.
We celebrate 20 years of SIHOT.
2007
The onset of a global banking and financial crisis hits the markets.
SIHOT.CRS goes live in Australia, pushing the development of SIHOT.TRUST.
2008
Barack Obama is elected the first African-American president of the United States of America.
The subsidiary SIHOT do America is founded in Brazil.
2010
The German airline Lufthansa takes delivery of its first Airbus A380.
The subsidiary SIHOT Asia Pacific is founded in Australia.
2011
Prince William weds Catherine Middleton.
We celebrate 25 years of SIHOT.
2012
Austrian Felix Baumgartner jumps from stratosphere to earth in record breaking space dive.
The subsidiary SIHOT Portugal is founded in Lisbon.
2013
Google releases its interactive head gear “Google Glass”
SIHOT becomes active in the UK and undertakes all international sales activites from here.
2016
The United Kingdom votes in favour of the Brexit.
